Voluptuous Lettuce Variation

  • 150g dry pasta
  • 300-350g king prawns
  • tomatoes
  • lettuce (strong, like rocket mix)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 6 tbsp olive oil (or more if you like it)
  • mustard seed
  • nigella seed
  • ground coriander
  • chilli powder
  • turmeric powder
  • cardamom powder
  • lemon juice
  • lime juice

I like the mix of 'warm' spices like coriander with fresh spices like kardamom and lemon. However, feel free to try whatever you like.

Fresh chilli instead of powder might not make you sneeze so much, although it costs a bit more time to prepare.

I like fresh ginger cut in cubes and added together with the garlic, but hubby doesn't like it, so I leave it. Spice-wise this recipe has a lot of degrees of freedom to play with.

What I basically want to show you with these recipes is, that it is easily possible to cook something fresh within 10 - 12 minutes. These days almost all of the professional chefs come up with 'fast food' cook books and then it turns out that they bang some sausages in the oven and open a tin. In my recipes I'm trying to use ingredients which are not preprocessed like sausages. The only tins I'm using are tomatoes - they are a real live savers. Well and pasta and cheeses are preprocessed, but it's easy to follow up what's in there.

If you don't like the idea of warm stuff on lettuce - then just steam some broccoli while you do the rest, and mix them in with the rest of the frying pan. Just play around - food is fun!
